School Story:

Earned my teaching and counseling degrees from Wayne State University.
I taught elementary and middle school, and then was a middle school counselor in the Oak Park School District for 52 years.

I was married in 1958. My husband Mickey died in 2003. We have two children and three grandchildren.

I have been privileged to work on the reunion committees for our 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th reunions. It has always been a lot of fun for
us to plan the parties. I am really looking forward to our 60th. I hope many of our classmates decide to attend this year.

Elementary School

I am proud to say I attended Bagley Elementary School. Many of us have
known each other since kindergarten. What wonderful memories we share.

Education after graduating from Mumford

I have my bachelor's and master's degrees from Wayne State University.
The degrees are in elementary education, and educational guidance and
counseling. I reached the 30 hours beyond the bachelor's degree through Michigan State University. I must admit that both of my children graduated from University of Michigan, and I am a devoted wolverine.

Hobbies

I enjoy reading, fine dining, the symphony, spending time with friends and family, and being with people, in general.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

This is not surprising to those who know me, but in case you aren't sure, there are now two Sheila Goldbergs in our class. You knew me as Sheila Grossman. The "real" Sheilah Goldberg spells her name differently.

What did you do right after high school?

Went to college. i complete the four years at Wayne in three years. I attended school through each summer and graduated in August 1958. I spent my entire professional career in the Oak Park School District which lasted 52 years. It was a very enjoyable and rewarding career.

What do you do now? How did you get into that?

I read. I spend time with friends and family. I am thoroughly enjoying retirement. It, too, is a very enjoyable and rewarding part of life's journey.

High points of your life since high school.

My family, my career, and the respect I have earned in both endeavors,.

Any vices?

Of course not.

Where will you be in 10 years?

Hopefully, traveling, reading, studying, dining, growing intellectually and enjoying the finer things in life.

Judy we have known each other virtually all of our lives.

I know I'm a little early, but I don't want to miss it. You are 3 days older than I am. I want to wish you a very happy birthday and a happy and healthy year. We have known each other actually our entire lives. We have shared so many happy memories...and some sad ones. Carole you are such a special woman....intelligent, caring, a leader and a devoted friend. Lives has its challenging moments, but we bounce back stronger.
